I am not sure the Eventbrite/Harwell site is working properly, i went through the process of signing up for the Monday virtual presentations and despite getting acknowledgements and ticket claim emails i didn’t actually get a link to any lectures.
horsfalliMemberI agree the Bike Energy solution looks really good. They stock a cable for my Giant and it saves me having to lump around a very large charger.
horsfalliMemberA very good event, at lunchtime I had a chat with Dawn Crawford (Harwell Campus Construction and Environment Manager) and it got me thinking whether there might be some use in doing a campus version of the Didcot Cycle Review 2019. It might be a way of raising awareness amongst the various facilities parties of cycling needs on the site, for instance it was evident that DISH has nowhere to park bikes.
horsfalliMemberA bit of a long shot but I used to work on a similarly large secure site and it was not unheard of for unlocked bikes to be borrowed and left somewhere else on site. It might be worth your while checking around the STFC and the wider campus.
horsfalliMemberI do not think these are a good idea other than for lightweight road bikes owned by tall riders. I notice that the website shows no photos of a rider actually placing a bike onto the top tier. They are a clear breach of manual handling regulation on both weight and reach criteria. Finally in wet weather the riders are going to have to lift the bike by the dirtiest and slipperiest parts.
