A huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined our Cycle-to-Work yesterday and made the day a success! In spite of the wet weather, we registered 62 people, well down on the summer event, but still comparable with previous Cycle-to-Work days.
Guy WMemberReminder: Cycle-to-Work TOMORROW Wed 25th Sep. Weather forecast looks MUCH better than yesterday! Cycle in and get your free breakfast at DiSH anytime from 0730 to 0930!
Guy WMemberDon’t forget HarBUG’s Cycle-to-Work event THIS Wednesday 10th! Wednesday morning weather looks pretty good – dry, sunny and not too windy. Free breakfasts at DiSH for all those cycling in. Easy paced guided-rides from Didcot and Wantage. Bike repair/servicing available (Slime Cycleworks). See original post for more details.
Guy WMemberTODAY! Final reminder HarBUG AGM 12.30pm. Top-floor meeting area in Ridgeway House (Fermi Avenue, opposite RAL main gate, just behind nursery). ALL welcome.
At AGM we will report on HarBUG activity & accounts, discuss cycling issues, and elect a new committee. Please come along if you can.Guy WMemberREMINDER – HarBUG AGM this Wednesday lunchtime, 12.30pm. All welcome. Top-floor meeting area in Ridgeway House (opposite RAL main gate, just behind Nursery).
Guy WMemberHarBUG has been lobbying developer and county council – since before construction started – to provide a proper crossing exactly as you describe. Despite being a no-brainer, it always seems surprisingly difficult to get designs changed after approval. The dropped kerbs may yet appear, and this is being regularly raised with local councillors and council officers.
Guy WMemberFinal reminder – HarBUG AGM at 1230 TOMORROW, Wednesday 9th October. In Room G59, Diamond House on the RAL site. Please come if you can.
If you don’t already have access to the RAL site, please email guy.wilkin@diamond.ac.uk TODAY to arrange access.

Guy WMemberIf you don’t already have access to the RAL site for next week’s AGM, then please email me (secretary@harbug.org.uk) at least one day beforehand (ie by Mon 15th), so that I can arrange access for you. On the day, you should allow sufficient time to report first to the reception building at RAL main gate (Fermi Ave). Here you will be given a visitor’s pass and directed to Diamond House.

Guy WMemberThere are detailed maps and descriptions for each route on the HarBUG website.
Hover over the ‘Cycle Routes’ tab – a list of routes will appear – click on the one you want.
Each route description includes link to map – each map is drawn so that the route ends exactly at the Pavilion!
Just to confirm, the Pavilion is at the Thomson Avenue Campus entrance, just off A4185 road. Look for a wooden building with veranda, and clock on top, located at the corner of the sports pitches, just behind the trees alongside A4185 road. There is a bus stop outside – but arriving that way won’t qualify you for a free breakfast!
Hope to see you tomorrow.Guy WMemberHi
Yes – HarBUG asked the council a couple of weeks ago to NOT use the same surface on Winnaway!
Guy WGuy WMemberRe ‘puncture alley’ – OCC say they hope to fix surface in the new year.
Guy WGuy WMemberI’ve just emailed OCC about the grit/flint and the punctures. Awaiting response…!
