When I left work last night it looked like they had started work on adding a dropped kerb to the top end of the new path.

Not sure I’ll bother using it too much for the reasons already mentioned. And, agree, the scraping of the track has just made it worse.

If it was a dark blue Saab, I’ve had a run in with him before. He cut me up at as the road narrows coming off the Diamond roundabout, then waited for me to catch him up and braked suddenly in front of me. Also used the same sentence on me. I suggested he learnt the highway code.

I can’t say that I think it’s necessarily loose flint that’s alone in causing the problem!

Also, I had two flint induced punctures after riding along the grass by the side of the path, so no guarantee of safety there either.

Personally, I don’t see any advantage for cyclists to the “cycle bypass” at all.

If you’re going South, you going to be just as quick sticking to the main carriageway and at least you would still have right of way. If traffic was stuck going South, the bypass will only encourage cyclists to cut inside cars/lorries before the roundabout and then have to rejoin the carriageway with accelerating traffic!
