A warning to anyone cycling this route: Some bricks have been delivered to someone at the bottom of the Winnaway. These have been stacked by the side of the cycle path, some of which are two-loads high and are tilting over the path. Not particularly safe.
Also, if this new entry isn’t the Council’s problem, who built the cycle path?
Miranda23MemberOh my goodness! Thank you for the information, alaniwi. I won’t risk leaving my bike there with these signs then!
Having done some digging on the internet, I think I have found the answer. They are putting in a covered walkway to the multi-storey, which means moving the cycle racks. Information here: http://www.culham.org.uk/users-of-didcot-parkway/
However, they have already said there may be a reduction in cycle rack spaces. I’m assuming “may” means “will”.
Miranda23MemberHi, I’ve just started cycling to work from Didcot (day 2), and got passed far too close by a gold Kia this morning also! I must have been a few minutes behind you, arrowlee, as it was halfway between the Rowstock roundabout and Icknield Way crossing. I can only assume this is the same car.
Unfortunately, I don’t have a helmet camera, and didn’t catch the numberplate. I’ll look out for it tomorrow though, as I intend to do the same route and the same time. I was planning on knocking on the window, as it went past fairly slowly due to traffic up ahead, but wasn’t sure that if that caused an accident I would be liable…?
