Just to add, my colleague had the same problem and was issued a £600 charge for non return of the bike, despite being hired out to other users in the meantime. It was the same back and forth to resolve the issue.
ezrollerMemberHi all, I would be interested in regular XC rides starting from site. I’ve done a couple of local club rides that were great but something I can do straight after work sounds ideal!
ezrollerMemberas the most recent thread on puncture alley I thought this would be the best place to share this.
These shards were removed from my tyre today, the largest having torn completely through.

ezrollerMemberWould like to add that I have also been getting punctures on that stretch since the fix.
Will start walking it again.
ezrollerMemberI rode over it last night and this morning and have also punctured. Could be coincedence of course but its the first time since I started walking that stretch.
ezrollerMemberAs far as I can tell there is still just as much loose flint as before, I had also thought the remedial work had been postponed.
Think I’ll continue to walk it…
ezrollerMemberHi Helder,
As you may have seen already the council have placed a sign at each end of the dreaded stretch warning cyclists of punctures. It’s good to see they are fully aware and hopefully this means they are planning to sort it out quickly.
If you still wish to contact the council then Lewy posted some email addresses here http://www.harbug.org.uk/?topic=route-upgrade-update/#post-2764
ezrollerMemberBear in mind some of the punctures from that stretch don’t become apparent straight away, mine have mainly been become so when getting back on the bike to ride home so it might be worth giving your tyres the once over before heading back rather than potentially getting a surprise half way home.
All the best,
Tom
ezrollerMemberUnsurprisingly I’ve also had numerous punctures on this stretch. I had resorted to using the MTB and walking my bike along the mud on the side then carrying over the last section where the path ends at RAL but I have still been picking up punctures from flints in the mud stuck to the wheels (and also a few hawthorns since I’ve been doing that!)
I will also send some email to the above addresses.
Here’s to a speedy fix!
Tom
