The new cycle route from Wanatge to the Campus is progressing well. An update from the County Council has been published: Route 1 Update.
In the update it states that section 1 inbetween West Lockinge and Ardington has been completed. However the quality of the surface finish is not to specification. Reports from HarBUG members have stated that there are large loose stones on the surface rather than the compacted limestone dust finished specified.
HarBUG along with Cycling UK – Wantage have been in contact with the County Council about this issue. They have agreed with us and are working with the contractors to rectify the surface finish over the next few weeks.
Hopefully our early notification to the council will prevent other sections of the route from having the same surface issues.
