Steventon Bridge has had restrictions imposed on it due to deterioration of the structure. HarBUG has contacted the local County Councillor, Sally Povolotsky, to make sure cyclist are considered when planning a more permanent solution. There is restricted space so any solution is going to be a compromise, happily Councillor Povolotsky was already on the case pushing for cyclists to be considered. The photograph shows the emergency measures introduced, since then a temporary solution has been installed but a permanent way forward is still under discussion. We hope to be part of the consultation for any permanent solution.
The Winnaway
Recently motorised vehicles have been spotted using the Winnaway. It looks likely that the vehicles are accessing the new house being built at the top of the Winnaway. The County Council have put up two signs on the junction with the A4185 stating that motorised vehicles are banned.
If you spot any vehicles using the Winnaway please report it to web@harbug.org.uk and we can pass this onto the County Council. If you can take a photo of the vehicle (without creating an issue with the driver) please send that too otherwise, please let us know the type and colour of the vehicle. Ideally the registration plate and any other details e.g. name of company on a van etc. also.
